On Saturday, February 10, 2018, the Charger wrestling team traveled to Lexington Christian Academy and won the Eastern Independent League Tournament Championship for the first time since 1992. The team bested the competition of the seven opposing schools to secure the win, including defeating Portsmouth Abbey 142-140.
Two time E.I.L. Champions Ben J.D. ‘19, Ethan S. ‘18, and Lucas C. ‘18 won their respective weight classes, helping lead the team to victory. Evan K. ‘19 earned his first E.I.L. Championship at 152 lbs., upsetting the bracket after his initial 4th place seeding.
Benjamin G. ‘20 - 113 lbs. and Tyler S. ‘19 -160 lbs. each placed second. All six Chargers qualified, and will compete, at the New England Championships this Friday and Saturday at Tabor Academy.
